How can I apply?
HOW to Apply— Step by Step:
- Decide when you want to come to CIEP, how many hours per week you want to study, and how long you can stay.
- Look at the price lists for classes and click here for a description of the accommodations..
- And also decide, if you want to study as an individual or in a mini-group. Group classes are available if you come in a group.

- If you have decided you definitely plan to study Russian at our center, please contact us to receive the Application form and send the completed application via e-mail or FAX;
- Upon receipt of the application form, the foreign students adviser will make a contract for you. Then the university will send you an invoice for the registration fee and an invoice for the outstanding balance of the contract (Click here to see the copy of the Contract). Usually this procedure takes about 1 month.
- Upon payment of the registration fee and the contract amount, your admission to the program will be confirmed.
For an invitation you are supposed to provide us with the following:
- your passport copy (sent via fax or scanned and sent via e-mail);
- the full address and tel./fax of your educational institution or employer;
- the address and tel./fax the Russian embassy where you will take your visa (when you have the invitation)
- the registration fee should be paid in advance into NSU account.
The Visa and Registration Office needs about 1 month to make an invitation for you.
Please note that you have to apply 3 months before the starting date.
The Costs of Your Program are determined to include:
- Registration Fee (EUR 85) [nonrefundable]
- Transportation from airport to Akademgorodok (if needed —EUR 30)
- Tuition Fee (determined as in Tables, and includes course tuition, use of textbooks and tapes [excluding dictionaries], use of NSU library, and certificate)
- Housing accommodations (EUR 50 extra and nonrefundable for home-stay)
- Extracurricular activities (sports facilities and excursions)
Costs from delay for beginning classes or reduction of class load will not be refunded.
Cancellation of Registration must be done in writing, and refunds are prorated. No refund will be given for cancellation of 2 week programs.
Shortening your program can be done in writing with 2 weeks notification. You will receive a refund for the cancelled portion of the tuition and housing fees. If you cancel the entire program, NSU will retain 2 weeks of the tuition and housing fees.
Medical Insurance must be arranged in your home country.
